Winter Market

myriad gardenTomorrow kicks off the Winter Market in the Myriad Botanical Gardens, presented by OU Medicine.  Friday through Sunday, Dec. 7-9, will offer an opportunity for holiday shoppers to visit the Great Lawn where there will be more than 40 vendors selling local and handmade goods, including crafts, decor, jams, art and other specialty items. In addition to a abundance of holiday shopping opportunities, the Winter Market will feature food vendors, treats like hot cocoa and cider, and live outdoor musical entertainment. So put on those mittens and scarves and join us for a weekend of family-friendly holiday fun, courtesy of OU Medicine. Hours are 10am to 8pm daily and admission is FREE!

Don’t forget all the other Downtown in December activities or the Devon Ice Rink.

Minco Honey Festival

The Minco Honey Festival is the event to attend for pure, sweet Oklahoma honey from the largest honey producing facility in the state. Tours of the Ross Honey Plant will be given throughout the day by the owners, and an impressive array of honey products and gifts will be available for purchase. This year’s festival will also feature the popular and much-anticipated honey bake-off. Free samples will be available to the public, so attend the Minco Honey Festival and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Minco honeyKnown by locals as the land of milk and honey, Minco dairy producers will also have free samples of cheese and milk products available to crowds of festival-goers. Come to the Minco Honey Festival and you are guaranteed to notice the aroma of food throughout the town supplied from local restaurants and food vendors. The Minco Honey Festival will also include over 100 crafters, a quilt show, a kids’ tractor pull and booths filled with Made in Oklahoma products. Visit downtown Minco, Oklahoma, for great sights, smells and tastes this weekend. Festival runs Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9am – 5 pm.

Christmas on the Farm

Santa arrives at Wild Things Farm, near Pocola, November 30, 2012! He and Mrs. Claus will greet you with a merry ho, ho ho. A special Christmas craft activity is planned for the kids. The pony drawn sleigh ride will be  available and a Christmas pony for pictures. The whole family can wander through our light maze. Enjoy s’mores and hot cocoa while you visit. The farm store will be open with goodies to use as gifts or stocking-stuffers. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Wild Things Farm November 30, December 1, 7, & 8 from 5- 8pm.

Pink Pistol

miranda-lambert-300Many fans of Miranda Lambert have been awaiting the grand opening of her store in Tishomingo. The 2013 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year will turn her adopted home town pink on Friday, November 23 with the grand opening of her lifestyle/general merchandise store, the Pink Pistol. Located at 214 W. Main Street in downtown Tishomingo, OK. The Pink Pistol is a store “For The Wild at Heart.”

“We’re having the Grand Opening the day after Thanksgiving, on Black Friday, only we’re calling it Pink Friday,” said Miranda.

The store will carry a variety of merchandise selected by Miranda including handmade boots and belts from Corral, Farm Boy & Farm Girl with their fashionable line of clothing and home goods, items from Junk Gypsy including clothing, jewelry and other accessories plus much more. “It’s antiques, gifts, boots, jeans and pretty much everything you can imagine,” said Miranda.
